Our values
Our value-based organisation, the Running Grindelwald Association and thus the Eiger Ultra Trail, was founded more than ten years ago by five local people. The founding team is still passionately involved in the organisation today. We look forward to the coming events:
motivated – passionate – welcoming
We love what we do. We are avid mountain climbers, trail runners and nature enthusiasts. Our volunteer work on the Eiger Ultra Trail is a labour of love and we are committed to continuously improving and developing the event. We’re passionate about overcoming challenges; they inspire us to find creative solutions. We value having a high degree of continuity in our organisational team, both in relation to our core group and the other volunteers. Every one of us is responsible for bringing the philosophy of the Eiger Ultra Trail community to life and ensuring it has a powerful impact on everyone involved.
Riskmanagement
Safety is our number one priority. We are aware of our responsibilities and do our best to manage risks in a comprehensive and networked way, so that runners and event staff return from the trail healthy and safe.
open - honest – respectful – reliable
Respect, honesty, appreciation and openness form the foundation of our team spirit and everything we do. We have great confidence in every member of our team and can rely on their skills and initiative. We maintain an open dialogue and respect other people’s opinions.
Excellent quality
We always aim to deliver excellent quality. We find it incredibly motivating to reflect upon, develop and improve the quality of the event and this also reflects our philosophy. We want to position ourselves on the market as a highly innovative event. Requests and suggestions made by participants are always taken seriously and closely examined. In the interests of the Eiger Ultra Trail community, we do everything in our power to implement the proposals that are deemed appropriate.
sustainable – responsible
Our strive to ensure the Eiger Ultra Trail generates meaningful value for the local economy. We are aware of our social and ecological responsibilities and act accordingly. We want to be seen as a role model for sustainable tourism.
