E250 RACE UPDATE
Essential information
Due to the weather forecast for Wednesday, with thunderstorm fronts, heavy rain and hail expected, we are adjusting the race format. Here is the key information to keep in mind: the race will now start on Thursday at 03:00 from Kandersteg. Please check here [link to subpage] for the updated logistics. This adjustment also changes the total distance from 260 km to 200 km. The safety committee and our professional meteorologist continue to monitor the situation, with the safety of runners, staff, volunteers and supporters at the heart of our decisions.
« Eiger Ultra Trail - harder than the North Face solo » Ueli Steck, *1976 – 2017
The legendary Eiger stands at 3970m above Grindelwald and has been enthralling visitors to the valley for decades. Known as the ‘last problem of the Alps’. The Eiger North Face was finally conquered in 1938 in a battle waged over 4 days. Today, world-class climbers tackle the Eiger North Face solo in less than two and a half hours.
