Please see the mandatory equipment for your distance. The compulsory equipment is for your safety during the event and it is your responsibility to carry this equipment in good condition. Any failure to do so will result in a penalty in accordance with the competition regulations. MINIMUM MANDATORY EQUIPMENT LIST
The obligatory material per Person is:
- Running pack to carry mandatory gear throughout the race
- Smartphone: The runner must be reachable at any time before, during and after the race with international roaming that works in the countries where the event takes place | Each runner should save the organization's safety phone numbers, not mask/block their number and do not forget to start the race with the battery fully charged | Keep the phone ON at all times, airplane mode is forbidden and could result in a penalty
- Charger for smartphone
- powerbank to charge the phone
- Minimum water supply of 1.5 liters
- Food supply
- Crockery, cups and cutlery for catering at the base camps (is not on site)
- 1 silk sleeping bag or similar (obligatory for overnight stay in the Life bases)
- Two working headlamps with enough spare cells/batteries for the whole route. Recommendation of 200 lumens or more for the main torch light
- Survival blanket of 1.40m x 2m minimum / 55 inches x 80 inches
- Whistle
- Jacket with hood for bad weather in the mountains/course terrain: The jacket must be made of a waterproof* and breathable** membrane (e.g.. Outdry) | *minimum recommended 20 000 Schmerber (20,000 mm) | **RET value recommended: minimum of 13 | The jacket must have an integrated hood or one which is attached to the jacket by the original system designed for that purpose by the manufacturer | The seams must be sealed | The jacket must not have sections of fabric which are not waterproof. Air vents fitted by the manufacturer (under-arm, in the back) are accepted
- Waterproof overpants
- Insulation jacket (down or primaloft jacket)
- Warm top layer with long sleeves (excluding cotton) weighing at least 180g (men's size medium) OR the combination of a long-sleeved warm undergarment (excluding cotton) weighing at least 110g (men's size medium) and a windproof jacket* with durable water-repellent protection (DWR protection) *the wind-proof jacket does not replace the mandatory waterproof jacket, and vice versa. Combination of arm warmers and t-shirt is not allowed
- Long-legged trousers OR a combination of leggings and socks or shorts and leg warmers to cover the legs completely
- Replacement T-Shirt
- Cap, bandana or Buff®
- Sunglasses
- Warm gloves
- Reflector band must be worn and visible from 21:00
Obligatory material per team:
- An additional phone or GPS device on which the route data given by the organizer has been downloaded. Mobile phone is allowed. Note the roaming costs for the phone. A watch does not replace a GPS device or a phone. When using the phone as a GPS device, an additional power bank is recommended

- GPS tracker (will be given by the organizer with instructions at the start number distribution with the start number) The GPS tracker must be worn during the entire race according to the instructions. The organizer supervise the batterie of the tracker. Indication about the charging must be followed. Charging stations are available at Life bases. The GPS tracker must be changed at the Life Base Belalp. Each team has to hand in the GPS tracker and gets a new one for the second part of the course.
