Route Change
The current weather forecast for Saturday, 19 July 2025, the main Race day for the Eiger Ultra Trail by UTMB, predicts a high risk of thunderstorms with lightning activity, rain and strong winds from midday onwards. Experience has shown that the majority of our athletes will be on the most exposed sections of our race courses during this time. As the safety of our participants, support teams and our crew is our first priority, the routes for the E101, E51 and E35 will be adjusted. The E16 route remains unchanged. All start times remain the same and will not change.
The Manadatory Gear remains Basic Kit only.
The details of the routes are as follows:
E101 The route will be adjusted from Feld. Faulhorn, Schynige Platten, Burglauenen, Wengen, Männlichen and Lauberhorn will no longer me Aid Stations. The route now leads from Feld via Schwendi - Holenstein - Männlichen - Romantikweg - Kleine Scheidegg - Brandegg - Halten - Pfingstegg to Grindelwald. The operating times will also be adjusted. Schwendi post replaces Burglauenen post. The drop bags will be brought to the Schwendi control. Please familiarise yourself with the new route and the new transit times. These are published on the website. The route adjustment has no influence on the UTMB Running Stones and the direct qualification for the UTMB Chamonix.
E51 The route is adjusted from Feld. Faulhorn, Schynige Platten and Burglauenen will no longer be Aid Stations. The route now runs from Feld via Schwendi - Trychelegg - Halten - Pfingstegg to Grindelwald. The operating times will also be adjusted. Please familiarise yourself with the new route, the new operating times and cut offs. These are published on the website. The route adjustment has no influence on the UTMB INDEX, Running Stones nor the direct qualification for the UTMB Chamonix.
E35 The start will be in Burglauenen as usual. The route will be adjusted from Männlichen. The new route from Männlichen via Romantikweg - Kleine Scheidegg - Brandegg - Marmorbruch to Grindelwald. The operating times from Kleine Scheidegg will also be adjusted. Please familiarise yourself with the new route, the new operating times and cut offs. These are published on the website. The route adjustment has no influence on the UTMB Running Stones.
E16 No changes
