Imposing mountain ranges, rustic valleys and the largest connected glaciated area in the Alps - This is a World Heritage of universal value. On the UNESCO Jungfrau-Aletsch Trail, participants in teams of 2 or 3 can discover the UNESCO World Heritage Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch.
With 250 kilometers as well as 18,000 meters of altitude, the E250 route is considered a tough test for all participants. We pass by Sefinafurgga, Hohtürli next to Blüemlisalphütte, Gasterental and Lötschepass, Suonenwege im Wallis, Blatten-Belalp, Aletschgletscher, Fieschergletscher, Goms, Grimselpass, Haslital and Rosenlaui. The competition takes place in partial autonomy which means that each athlete has the ability to manage between control posts, in terms of food, equipment, orientation and safety. The circumnavigation of the UNESCO World Heritage Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch is a huge challenge for the athletes and will therefore be run in teams of 2 or 3 for safety reasons (whole route).
On the course there are Life bases, where the athletes can get food and rest. In addition, there will be refreshment facilities along the course. As a participant you will feed yourself independently between the posts and must carry the mandatory gear as stated in the Mandatory Equipment.
Each team will receive two supporter badges at the race number distribution. Access to the Life Bases and the purchase of discounted catering is only guaranteed with these badges. All information on the locations of the Life Bases is listed in the Supporter Roadbook.
Requirements
A very good physical condition and some experience in trail running are essential for tackling the E250. In addition, as a competitor you must be able to complete the race in a partial self-sufficiency according to the ethics of trail running. We reserve the rights to exclude persons from participating in the race.
The UNESCO Jungfrau-Aletsch Trail will be completed in teams of 2 or 3 people.

Finish: Sunday, 21 July 2024 7.00 (Time limit 95 hrs).

Maximum number of competitors
150 participants, regardless of the number of teams of 2 or 3.
Mandatory Equipment
According to Mandatory Equipment.
As a competitor you have to leave the check-point before the time limit, regardless of your arrival time at the check-point.
Intermediate time
The runners will be tracked by GPS.
Qualifying Points for Finishers
Lottery Western States 100 for finishers under 90 hours.

Dropbags for lifebases
We will distribute 7 dropbags (max. 35 L each) for the lifebases per runner at bib distribution. The dropbags must be handed in on Tuesday by 18.00 for transport at the event site. The drop bags can be collected again on Saturday from approx. 16.00 in the effects depot in the curling hall with the start number.
Storage of securities in Grindelwald
It is possible to hand in a bag for storage in Grindelwald on Wednesday morning before the start. The bag can be collected on Friday from 9.00 to 19.00 at the Infopoint or from Saturday morning from 03.30 at the effects depot in the curling hall with the start number. During the night from Friday to Saturday the volunteers can help in the finish area.
